A Clarification Regarding the Draft

The draft is finished, yes. But the truth inside it — that still needs attention.

The Council calls it a milestone.
I’d call it halfway — on a generous day.

I’m required to attend every review session.
They say it’s about “linguistic integrity.”
I care more about accuracy.

G.B. brings biscuits. Strategic, probably.
Alberta Higgins brings guidelines.
I bring a low tolerance for euphemism.

They’ll make the final edits.
I’ll make sure they know when they’re wrong.

If this book is going to exist, it should at least tell the truth —
or something close enough to make them nervous.
