Official Visual Materials Completed – “Collateral Death” Cover Approved
By BELLWICK COUNCIL MARKETING DEPARTMENT |
Following the completion of the manuscript earlier this month, the Bellwick Council is pleased to announce the final approval of all official visual materials for Collateral Death — the first authorised British noir mystery to feature a licensed corgi detective in the lead role.
The design marks a milestone in the Council’s ongoing Public Image Initiative, uniting civic documentation with the atmosphere of a psychological thriller.
Our goal: to ensure that Detective Hoover’s work is represented with the dignity, restraint, and fog density traditionally associated with British crime fiction.
The photographic component of the project presented certain logistical challenges. Detective Hoover was, of course, the required subject. Scheduling proved difficult due to his insistence that he “doesn’t perform for cameras” and that “real detectives don’t smoulder.” The session lasted seven hours and yielded exactly four usable expressions — all identical.
Nevertheless, the final result has exceeded expectations. The Council extends its sincere appreciation to Mr M. Waqas, the external graphic artist responsible for transforming these raw materials into a cohesive, striking cover design. Mr Waqas demonstrated exceptional patience, artistry, and diplomatic skill in working with a subject who measures cooperation in millimetres.
The cover now serves as the official visual identity of Collateral Death — a psychological noir novel rooted in Bellwick’s atmosphere of quiet dread and procedural precision. Detective Hoover’s reaction to the final image was brief but encouraging:
“I don’t hate it.”
The Council interprets this as full endorsement.
